~ The Educational Background of The Faculty ~

Unfortunately, the passage of time has resulted in losing contact with many of the men and women who taught in the Department. In most cases, we have their name, discipline, and degrees held. For some, we have only their name and a picture. If you are one of those people, or if you recognize someone's picture below and you can provide us with additional information, please contact us by email, mail, or telephone (417-836-5642).

Ms Rising was the first director of our Social Work program, being appointed in January 1974.

Ms. Rising built the program, developing it for certification by the Council of Social Work Education. She completed the first application and was Director of the program when it was initially certified in 1977. Since that time the program has expanded to become its own School of Social Work independent of the Department (Sociology, Anthropology, and Social Work) in which it was created. The School now offers both undergraduate and graduate degrees.
